As part of The Collected Series, I’ve begun a collaboration with Marisa Klaster, a skilled woodworker, who crafts custom handmade wooden objects for my constructional wall sculptures. These frames are designed to complement the sculptural forms, enhancing their presence and creating a refined, tactile dialogue between wood and material. Each frame is individually made, offering the option to present a sculpture as a complete elevated work.
Size : 28,5 x 31 cm burned oak
ABOUT KLASTER
Sparked by stories — that’s where Klaster starts. An intriguing question, collaboration with fellow makers, and an endless curiosity about the world around her are her driving forces. As an art director for many years, she told corporate stories through design. Now, as a designer/maker, she applies the same aesthetic skills to handmade objects — mostly wood — with more personal stories to tell. A key aspect of her work is the combination of sometimes hidden usability and play. She has a knack for stacking things; large silhouettes made of smaller elements that make people wonder about the narrative behind them.
